Just to chime in (hello everyone by the way!): I have also been seeing it - Acrobat Reader DC x64 - on two different machines, and along the same timelines as this thread:

Acrobat quit unexpectedly. Like G_Man says, the problem has been around for months. There's others (like titlebars reverting to the old Windows-7 shell style, or Acrobat/Reader hanging on startup for close to a minute or more)) that have been around for years.

Incidentally, all day Friday, Sept. 21, I got no errors. The setting to generate thumbnails in Windows Explorer was turned on.

Adobe Acrobat keeps "unexpectedly quitting" when I try to open the app. This has just been in the past 24 hours. ... I see the "unexpectedly quit" dialogue box a few seconds after I open AA.
